Running a business isn't an easy task but running a successful business is even harder! I often tell new business owners how important promoting is. I mean you can have a great product, or service and if no one knows about it... it really doesn't matter!

Now don't get me wrong there will come a time where you MUST invest financially in your business if you want it to grow but you should always use free resources first. Check out this list of ways you can promote your business when you're just getting started on a small budget.

1. Use your "Warm Market": Getting conversion started about your business can be hard but it should be much easier with friends and family. Always reach out to your friends and family first offer them a free item or consultation in return for posting about your business on their social media pages. Also send out a mass text letting everyone know what you offer. This is always a great start.

2. Introduce yourself in the comment section: It seems like everyone is busy proving how "popular" they are that we don't engage each other enough these days. Start telling people about what you offer, your website, contest in the comment section on some of your favorite blogs, and social media pages. Engaging in the comment section can help send website traffic your way and shows you are real and grounded to others.

3. Find a YouTube Guru: Do your research on popular YouTube gurus in your product or service industry or even just find you-tubers with a good amount of subscribers and or views. Many of them will do reviews on your brand and add links to your website in exchange for free products or a percentage of sales brought in from them.

4. Reach out to storefront small business owners: Just like you there are other small business owners who want and need to bring in more income. Go to your local stores, boutiques, and salons ask them if you can make presentations to their customers. Offer them something free or a small percentage of what you make in their store when there. Always call to speak to someone ahead of time never just show up.

5. Join Facebook Groups: These groups are becoming more and more popular and women are active in them daily. Join these groups and become a active member. I have used and still use all five of these strategies and bring in about $500-$700 a month doing these few things alone.
